If so, we invite you to spend two weeks with us on a working farm in the Polish countryside. Here you will be able to observe and experience the Polish way of life. Your host, Tadeusz, will share with you his knowledge of animal husbandry, trout fishing, making preserves and other traditions.
The list of activities also includes: learning about folk crafts, Polish cinema nights, Polish culinary lessons, day hikes in nearby scenic areas, swimming in nearby lakes and sightseeing of interesting historic places nearby, including: Slavik forts , German fortifications lines from WWII, a network of bunkers around the city of Wałcz and former soviet army bases including atomic bomb silos near the towns of Borne Sulinowo and Gródek which were occupied by the Soviets until 1992. We will also take you on a several day long kayaking trip along the meandering Piława river.
*The itinerary can be modified depending on the groups interests or weather conditions, for example we can add more places to go sightseeing to or spend more time kayaking and hiking.
Who this is for:
This camp is designed for people of Polish descent who live outside of Poland and are interested in discovering Poland while enjoying the great outdoors. Anyone over 18 can participate in this camp. Families or children with an adult guardian are also welcome to attend. We will be sharing the campground with a summer camp for Polish kids and your children will be able to interact with the Polish youth. Knowledge of the Polish language is not required, but there will be plenty of opportunities for you to practice speaking if you wish.
*It is possible to combine this experience with Polish language study, see below for more information.
